NUNSENSE IS BACK! Sister Robert Anne’s Cabaret Class
By Dan Goggin
FINAL WEEKEND! Ends January 29NOTE: If you had paid tickets for the cancelled, Saturday, January 21 performance, you can exchange those for any of the remaining Sister Robert Anne’s Cabaret Class shows.
When Dan Goggin realized that Sister Robert Anne had enough songs in the seven incarnations of “Nunsense” musicals to make a show of her own this “One-Nun-Sense” musical event became a reality. Using the concept that Sister was teaching the audience how to put together their own cabaret act seemed the perfect vehicle. Sister is quick to explain that even if you aren’t interested in doing your own act she hopes you’ll enjoy the class.
Filled with the usual “Nunsense” humor and audience participation segments this one-woman show became an instant hit. With Christine Mild who originated the part as Sister Robert Anne..Now for the first time in Waterbury at Seven Angels Theatre.

Centennial Casting
February16-March 11by Gino DiIorio and Nancy Bleemer
For Vincent Didonato, the family’s metal casting shop that he runs would hardly seem the perfect place to meet Ms. Right. But that is exactly what happens when a bunch of resumes from several comely New York actresses start pouring into his “Casting” office. Finding one young waitress too irresistible to let slip away; he sets up an “audition” for a fictitious film. Mistaken identity and hilarity soon follow as show business and sheet metal collide. A mad-cap new comedy that proves sometimes it’s alright to let sparks fly. -
Vignettes of an I-talian American Girl!
March 22-April 22by Maria Baratta
Seven Angels is thrilled to bring Maria Baratta back to her hometown of Waterbury with her award winning play, Vignettes of an I-talian American Girl. A goody-goody Italian American girl clashes with her rebellious younger sister, and through a twist of fate reveals that there is more to La Famiglia than the Sopranos, cannolis, and guns. A one-woman show sauteed with garlic and caramelized with humor! Direct from the 2011 NY Fringe Festival " Baratta is a master at conjuring up the many family members who had a hand in her coming of age, all of them hell-bent on teaching her the rules of Italian Catholic propriety. Vignettes reminds us that barriers to assimilation come from both within and without." – theater is easy.com “Baratta’s performance is moving at times and hilarious at others.”- nytheatre.com -
Teddy and Alice
May 10-June 10(A Stage II Community Collaborative)
Book by Jerome Alden; Music by John Phillip Sousa; Lyrics by Hal Hackady Adaptations and Original Music by Richard Kapp “I can do one of two things,” says Teddy Roosevelt at the top of “Teddy & Alice,” “I can either be President of the United States or I can control Alice. I cannot possibly do both!" The battle of wills between the great American President and his free-spirited daughter provides a spectacular double-star turn in this high-stepping, flag-waving and heart-warming family drama, set to the immortal strains of John Philip Sousa. -
Seven Angels Theatre-A Best Of Connecticut
Connecticut Magazine once again names Seven Angels Theatre-Best Community Theatre. This is what they had to say:
“Community theater is alive and well in Waterbury at Stage II, the non-Equity, community division of that city’s Seven Angels Theatre. Notable productions in the past year have included My Fair Lady and To Kill a Mockingbird, and the new season kicks off this month with Annie, directed by local radio-show host Tom Chute, with musical direction by Richard DeRosa. All communities should have such a place for talented local amateurs to gather and put on a show.” -
